Beware of Unintentional Habits
I'm an advocate of building good habits. It's a powerful technique that works with the brain's natural tendency to conserve mental energy, while helping you in your intentions.
But beware: when you start doing things simply out of habit, it becomes unintentional. And not being aware of it, you might not notice when it no longer works for you. When it becomes counterproductive.
It's similar to organizational protocols (and government processes)—sometimes, things are done a certain way today simply because that's how they've been done for years. Protocols created a decade ago still live today, never adjusted for the changing circumstances.
What about you?
Are there things you do out of habit, that are no longer optimal? That no longer help you toward growth and self-mastery?
Habits are powerful—but only when they serve you.
Beware of unintentional habits.
Be aware.
