Intentional Skincare: First Steps

I've been on this journey of intentional living. I haven't perfected it (and probably never will), but progress is progress.

That includes actively taking care of my body. It's been over month since I started exercising daily. I try to buy different kinds of fish and vegetables so that our diet includes as varied vitamins and minerals as possible.

And today, I started a new skincare routine. I have a new cleanser, toner, and sunscreen, products I chose after hours of research.

I'm reading articles and watching YouTube videos about all these skincare products and their ingredients. My goal is to understand how each ingredient affects my skin and everything else it affects inside the body.

Some products can penetrate the outer layers of our skin and, depending on the ingredients, could potentially disrupt the system.

For example, I've recently learned that some skincare ingredients contribute to hormonal imbalance. I want to make sure that I'm not messing up my hormones because that would affect my mood, period, fertility, how well my body can process sugar, and many other processes.

It might sound too much for some people, but I'm in luck—I actually enjoy learning about the science.
