Mindset Shift to Break Bad Habits
Do you have bad habits that you've been wanting to eliminate? Have you been trying to accomplish a lifestyle change for years now but you keep slipping?
There's a mindset shift that you can do (if you haven't already) that can almost instantly switch how you behave.
Change from "I can't" to "I don't." You're shifting the perspective so that you no longer feel restricted. It becomes a choice you made.
For example:
- Instead of thinking, "I can't stay out late on weekdays," switch to "I don't stay out late on weekdays."
- Instead of thinking, "I can't drive after drinking," switch to "I don't drive after drinking."
- Instead of thinking, "I can't smoke anymore," switch to "I don't smoke anymore."
It's powerful. What you can't do before is now your decision. It's something that's simply part of who you are. Part of your identity.
It's much easier to keep your actions aligned with your identity, rather than do something that fights it. And that helps enormously in breaking bad habits.
Make it a conscious decision. At this moment, become that person.
